No — Mission Bay RV Resort does not rent golf carts from its front office.
What it does do is let you have one on site. You can bring your own, or have one delivered to your space. Both are normal there, and both have rules worth knowing before you arrive.

Bringing your own cart: $10 a day
The resort charges $10 per day for a golf cart brought to the resort, or $50 per cart per month for longer stays. For comparison, a second vehicle is $20 a day and extra vehicles are $125 a month.
Three rules apply once it's on site:
- 5 mph maximum anywhere inside the resort.
- Tags at check-in. The resort asks how many e-bikes, motorcycles and golf carts you've brought and issues a tag for each one.
- Roadways only. Golf carts, e-bikes and scooters are "prohibited on sidewalks, patios, and public areas." This one catches people out — the shortcut across the grass is not allowed.
The Campland option that doesn't actually work
You'll see it suggested that Mission Bay RV Resort guests can just rent a cart from Campland on the Bay nearby. That doesn't work, for two separate reasons.
Campland's own rental page is explicit: "Only campers staying at Campland can rent our golf carts." If you're registered at Mission Bay RV Resort, you're not a Campland camper.
And even if you were, it wouldn't get you anywhere: "Please note our golf carts must stay within the resort grounds at all times." A Campland cart cannot leave Campland, so it could never reach your site at Mission Bay RV Resort.
Campland does rent bikes and surreys, and those are genuinely useful — though the surreys have to stay on the resort too. But the golf carts are for Campland campers, on Campland property, full stop.

Getting one delivered
This is what most guests actually do. A few local companies deliver to the resort:
- Sunride Golf Cart Rentals deliver 4-seat carts to Mission Bay RV Resort among other spots. They don't publish rates — you call for a quote.
- Beach Mode Rentals — that's us — deliver brand-new 6-seat street-legal carts to the resort, with rates published on the site.
We'd obviously rather you booked with us, so here is the distinction that actually matters rather than a sales pitch.
Street-legal or park-only: ask before you book anyone
This is the single most important question, and it's not about price.
A park-only cart is not registered and cannot legally leave private property. Inside the resort it's fine. It cannot take you to breakfast on Garnet, over to the Mission Beach boardwalk, or up to La Jolla.
A street-legal cart is a Low-Speed Vehicle under California law — VIN, plate, registration, insurance, lights, mirrors, seat belts, windshield. It may be driven on public roads posted 35 mph or under, which covers most of the road network across Mission Bay, Pacific Beach and Mission Beach.
From a space at Mission Bay RV Resort, that difference is the whole trip. Our carts are street-legal; Sunride's site doesn't state either way, so ask them directly if you go that route. Anyone renting you a cart should be able to answer this in one sentence.

What's actually in range
With a street-legal cart from the resort's De Anza corner of Mission Bay:
- Mission Bay Park and the roads right around you
- Pacific Beach — Garnet Avenue, Crystal Pier, the boardwalk
- Mission Beach — Belmont Park and the boardwalk
- De Anza Cove and the bay loop
Two things to remember: the boardwalk itself is closed to vehicles — park at the edge and walk — and the 35 mph rule follows the posted sign, not the map. If a road you're on posts higher, it's not a legal route for a cart.
Booking one for your stay
We deliver to Mission Bay RV Resort, and one flat $40 covers delivery and pickup. Rates are from $160 the first day and $140 each additional day, plus tax, with a refundable $200 deposit — a full 24 hours per day, not an hourly block.
You'll need a valid driver's license and we verify ID before pickup. Any additional drivers can be added, each signing the agreement and verifying their own ID.
Remember to declare the cart at check-in so the resort can tag it, and budget the $10 a day — that's the resort's fee, not ours.
